Understanding where to start is quite daunting. Some of the most common questions are answered below.


We have archers between 10 and a fair bit older...! Younger archers may not have the attention span for prolonged development - not hitting the bulls-eye straight away can be frustrating.
The club is an incorporated club for member archers. We are looking to run more come and try events during the school holidays which will provide opportunities to try it out.
A good quality starter bow, arrows and accessories start around $600. There are multiple interchangeable components to the bow and arrows which enables gradual and economical upgrade. Of course there is elite level equipment and you can easily spend much more...
The club is unique in that the main target range is open to members at most times throughout the week. The main club shoot is from 9am on Saturday mornings and across the weekend. Indoor shoots are on Wednesday and Friday evenings between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
The same rules apply as come and try. We have insurance, safety and personal injury obligations that must be adhered to. See the getting started section of the website or contact the club.
Enter the Ballinger Sports Complex off Ballinger Road and follow the road to the 'T' junction. Turn right and then follow the road all the way around to the end.
There are various competitions throughout the year both at the club and also at affiliated archery venues in Brisbane and South East Queensland. All competitions in Queensland can be found on the South QLD Archery Society calendar. A link to the SQAS, Archery Australia and SCAC club calendars can be found under 'Club Info' above.
